This nice example of a 1966 Buick Skylark looks to be a lot of bang for the buck. With a buy it now price on ebay just shy of $15k and a reported odometer reading of 82,345 someone is sure to have a bargain-basement boulevard bruiser that turns heads and gets the rightful attention that a 340 cubic inch (that’s 5.6 liter) engine deserves.
Dressed in red over black, this Skylark is said to be an unmolested example that has power steering and brakes, factory AC, Jasper rebuilt 2-speed auto transmission, new crossover exhaust system, and new wheels and tires. No mechanical issues are noted and everything is said to work, and the body is straight and clean. There are however a few rust bumps under the vinyl top that will at some point need attention.
Seller states that the car is in outstanding condition and has been garage kept with no rust in the floor pans, trunk, or quarter panels. Maintenance has been professionally done on this weekly driver that was built in the Baltimore, MD factory in June of 1966. While the original color was Silver Mist Metalic with black vinyl top, the new coat it’s been wearing since 2015 is Spectramaster red.
This clean titled handsome devil looks to be a fun and enjoyable car to drive that offers a bit of refinement. When I see cars like this, especially to be had at the price offered, it makes me want to downsize my house and upsize my garage. I didn’t need the spare bedroom anyway.
There are lots of new bits and pieces that have been added as maintenance items over the years such as the starter and alternator, but there’s a complete list HERE on ebay.
